Excited... like a kid going to Disney World...

I can't sleep. It's 2:30 AM & my mind is spinning with excitement & possibility. Yesterday was a day of laundry, cleaning, walking around historic Yorktown with the hubby + little man & house hunting. We viewed a house that my hubby & I strongly feel could be "the one". A cute brick rancher in a quaint little neighborhood. It literally just went on the market about a week ago. After the slight disappointment in losing the first house we wanted to make an offer on & then discovering three other homes we liked being under contract/sold, I started to think home ownership was not in our cards. I thought we might be stuck renting this 3rd floor apartment forever. My back has been taking a beating from Noah's steady weight gain & the adventures of carrying him up & down 3 flights of stairs. At least my legs & butt have been getting a killer workout. Any ways, the house is practically move-in ready. It has so much potential & just se...

.... look great on a baby, but not so great on a 30 year old mama. A couple weeks ago, I finally purchased the Graco Snugrider Elite Stroller Frame  & started to get my boo-tay-tay on track. Okay, so I haven't walked around my apartment's lake every single day, but I have made an effort to get out there a few times a week. Also, when I'm at my parents' store, I walk around & push Noah in the stroller to help him nap. Even when he falls asleep, I usually continue walking around for the purpose of exercise. I started buying healthier foods again... more fresh veggies & fruits... less easy-to-make yummy processed crap. We cut out a lot of the fast food for the sake of saving money & that has made a huge difference. I've always been big on H2O vs soda, so it hasn't been an issue cutting back on sugary beverages. However, I still crave pop-tarts on a daily basis - a repercussion of pregnancy? This morning, I made myself an egg white omelette with ...

Chex mix + House hunting + Afternoon lullabies = My Thursday afternoon

Well, back to the drawing board. The house that we were about to make an offer on is now off the market. I guess it was not meant to be. Honestly, my heart was not fully set on it. My parents were gung-ho about it because of the location. Of course they want us closer, so they can see Noah more often. Lane & I thought the house was decent, but it also needed a bit more work than we were really wanting to take on. So, here I am snacking on Chex mix, listening to Noah's swing play the same lullabies over & over again & checking out random real estate sites. I know I should be pumping breast milk or vacuuming or getting another load of laundry done while he naps, but I'm tired. I couldn't sleep after Noah's midnight feeding. Stayed up checking emails, creating the weekend grocery list, looking at Mother's Day gift ideas & perusing the What To Expect First Year website while the boys slept. Crawled into bed around 2 AM. Noah was up again for a feeding...

:) Hijacked (:

I noticed that my old "blog" was hijacked by those who shall remain unnamed. It appears this occurred last fall, during my Internet hibernation. Oh, well. Let bygones be bygones. I guess during my downtime, I will just post stuff here. This blog's creation has no ill intent. It is definitely not a place stir up negative emotions or provoke name calling. Personally, I would hope that enough time has passed to allow parties involved to heal, forget or forgive. Regardless, I am attempting to remain indifferent. Originally, I thought this could be a decent location to post & share photo of Noah. However, my husband feels it would be in our best interest to refrain from publicly sharing our little one's photos. It sucks. I still want to reach out to his family, regardless of our differences. I think our kid deserves to be loved by his entire family and I feel it's unfortunate that he may never know or meet some of them. I have to respect the wishes of my husban...
